Clicking sound: Is it normal?

My speakers emit a clicking sound any time 3D hardware acceleration is enabled (i.e. i hear it in my headphones in games). Is this normal? How can I fix it?

my specs:
P4 2.4, 512 RDRAM, Radeon 9800 Pro, TB Santa Cruz, 250W power supply
