My new seagate hard drive started clicking after an improper shutdown. I'm not sure how to catergorize this clicking, so I'll describe it.

Every 2-3 seconds, a round of 3 clicks occur, but only when I am actively using the HDD. it's not the normal loading sound, because it is extremely loud. Please help if you know what has heppened to my drive.

Note: The drive has not been subject to any extreme physical impact that would harm the drive.

Edit: i am now running HDD regenerator trial version to look for bad sectors.
.

Last time that happened to me (about 4 months ago), I ran the CD boot disk of HDD Regenerator and had it repair the drive. It found a ton of bad sectors that had been corrupted, repaired them and recovered all the data.
Afterwards it was as if the problem didnt happen.
It took about 12 hours to finish but the drive has been right as rain ever since.

Others use Spinrites tool which should do the job just as well.

Updates on HDD problem: I have been told by my friend that it's not *CLICKS* I am hearing, just heavy seeking sounds. However, I think it is very strange that my Hard drive jumps to 100% access rate every 5 seconds, even when idle. Is this normal at all? Should I be worried?
