Clearcoating brushed steel?

I cut a window into one of my optical drives and I used my dremel's sander wheels (round spongy one) to sand away the standard blue/gray color of its enclosure. For now its shiny and I was wondering if just regular (areosol) is adequit for keeping the shine.

Yes you can clear steel works prettu good. But you have to make sure you keep the hands off before paint. After its clear prints well make it look like a POS.
