hey guys im modding a wester digital 80gb sata 2 drive with a clear top im just wandering wat material i should use for the clear top?

Lexan (or something similar) is what I Think WD uses for their raptor X series hard drives. They feature a window on top.

Are you assuming this drive will function when you're done? Unless you have a cleanroom to work in, don't get your hopes up.

i have a dead wester digital drive so im gana mod the top of the dead drive then transfer it onto a good drive and i will find a clean spot
