What kind of clear coat does everyone use. I used this krylon kind that was supposed to be super glossy, and I was really disapointed. I feel like when I use clear spray, it makes a cloudy layer over the top, which I think looks bad.

am I doing something wrong? am I using the wrong paint? any suggestions???
 
make sure that the clear coat you are using is the same brand as the base coat/color coat you sprayed. If they are different this can cause some problems, also make sure that heat your cans of paint/clear in a bath of hot water for a couple minutes before use, do a couple of "clearing sprays" to clear the nozzle and get the hot stuff out.

Lastly, if you want a truly glossy shine make sure that you sand the base coat with a real fine paper and then do the same with the clears. Once you have "clear sanded" the clear coats then take a fine buffing wax and polish over it. This will all help you get a really glossy look. Search through the forums and the web and you will find some very very helpful tutorials.
 
Nasons and Dupont are pretty good.... but still love PPG stuff.... For really, REALLY cool and vibrant colors go with HOK..
