I'm looking to get a clear acrylic case for my computer. Looking to spend under $100, the less the better. I just want it to function like a normal case, bigger the better, and needs atleast 2 80mm fan holes.

any recommendations? directon has a few but i dunno if i trust them....

thanks

anybody have one or know ANYTHING about them??

how does
this one look? seems to have everything I want in a clear case.

thanks for your help

Looks great. Plexi cases are awesome, I really really love cases that optimize tinting/painting, they look sweet.

gl.

Same one I have. Love it. But expect to spend atleast an hour setting the thing up, but once you get it set up its sweet. Although if you change your drives often, it will get annoying to take out the rack every time for it. But, still sweet. Plus ANY lighting in it makes it look PIMP.

I'd get a UV reactive one from Xoxide . . . with UV cathodes and/or UV fans it makes the whole case glow.

from my first hand experience with them, they are a pain. the holes are a pain to line up. some of them are not "square" and i had to widen some of the holes with a drill for it to come together. temps are little higher. also, the way the fan holes are designed cause the case to be loud. the fans pulling the air through the acrylic "grill" creates a wind tunnel sound... hard to explain, but the less crap you have in front of a fan, the quieter it is.

well I'd have to have some sort of clear fan guard over the fans anyways.... Plus clear fans arent all that powerful so the noise shouldnt be much of a problem IMO. and yeah, I only have 2 optical drives which I'll probably never switch out, or atleast for a loong time (52x liteon burner, 16x dvd - dont want/need dvd burner since I have 380gb of HD storage :)

I really like the design and look of the UV colored cases, but the case will be on my desk (maybe under) in my room where I sleep, and that sort of light would reallly bother me, especially when trying to watch TV/movies, etc....

is there any way around this?? maybe i'm missing something?

do they have easily accesible switches that would allow me to turn them off w/o opening the case and w/o shutting off the comp??

if so, we may have a winnar :)

You could just feed all your LED's/UV's from one molex line (or two), and then put a circuit breaker switch on one of the cables (either + or -).. You could put the same swithch for two more more lines simulateneously. Break the circuit, lights out. Switch in on again, lights on.

hmmm sounds good :)

what do you guys think would look best: LED fans and/or cold cathodes?? I cant decide... I want to keep the case completely clear though, no UV coloration.

thanks again

I would go UV cathodes, that way you could turn it off so there is no glowation and then flip the switch and WOAH it all lights up:)

IMO

The concept of a completely clear case is cool. However, it does have many drawbacks. For one, keeping it clean can be a bitch, especially if you plan on lanning with it, or have kids, lil bro/sis, etc. Second, hiding wires in a normal case is hard enough, near impossible with a clear case.

But hey, to each his own.
