cleaning up PSU wires?

Okay, so my case is pretty clean but the PSU wires clutter up everything. Is there a product that can conceal or bind the psu wires? I just want to get my case looking spiffy, which in this case will also help with cooling. Anyway, thanks.

You’ve got a few options, you could just go with some cable ties and tuck the wiring/tie the wiring behind the MB tray.

Another option would be to sleeve your cables, (this typically entails taking the connectors off to get the sleeving/heat shrink tubing on; something like this for example.

There are also options that don't have you pulling off the connectors, I've not used this before so I can't speak to how well it works.

Great, thanks so much, I did a little re-wiring a few hours ago. It isn't extremely clean, but it looks much better than it did before.

Are there any large retail chains that carry this type of stuff? I would rather go pick some up instead of ordering online and having to wait.

I personally haven't run across any in any retail chains, more of a mom and pop type of setup. you might want to check someplace like a hardware store/ HomeDepot or some place like that, I know they carry heat shrink tubing but I'm not sure about the actual loom.

another option would be buying some standard split loom, not as flexable but if approched correctly it could look good.

I can't find hte links at HomeDepot.com but I've seen them in store, you can use either this or this effectivly, the first one is a bit more flexable... all depends on if you are going for a specific look or just want them out of hte way.


it also wouldn't hurt to pick up something like this to help keep them where you want them.

all of these items should be able to be found in a hardware store/electrical store.

For all your sleeving needs, I'd recommend FrozenCPU or Performance-PCs, its hard to find sleeving in a store.

I get all my zip-ties and heat shrink at Lowes. I use black sleeving so the fact that Lowes only has black heat shrink is no problem. (just look in the electrical aisle) It's cheaper than online.

But, to get good quality stuff otherwise the above two shops are tops in my book.

Quality sleeving job necessitates removal of the connectors. Google PSU sleeving for some great how-to articles.

I really enjoy doing it.

Heatshrink, Zip ties, split loom and twisted loom. It does not, however, carry cable sleeving.

what section do they have the loom? I havn't seen it there before....of coure it might help if i looked for it b4 ...is the loom the braided stuff like w/ sleeving or is it the ribbed plastic stuff like they use in car wiring?

Loom is the plastic ribbed stuff.

HD carries no braided sleeving.

Everything I mentionned is in the electrical department, close to their multimeters and similar products.
