Cleaning Twinplex pro gpu / Help

Hey everyone ..

Im just needing some assistance on how to clean the corrosion portion on the gpu block. Heres a pic of the gpu water block that I have and in the cemter part of the gpu block has a little bit ot green corrosion / residue. Look exactly like when i go on a fishing trip and on your reels or on the guides of your fishing rod when its exposed to saltwater.

Here's an example of that green residue i was preferring to. Youll see it on the spool of this reel. Now on my gpu water block it has little protions building up on the center of gpu block.

What is the best safest way to remove that from my Twinplex Pro Gpu.

Undo the four screws and clean with a scotch brite pad or citric acid works even better. Is this an unused TwinPlex Pro or a used one? If it is a used one then you need to make sure you have the proper mix of AC Fluid in the system. If it is a new one then AC is slipping on their QC again as that is from not washing the part after they machine it, however I can't imagine that being true as the block was bead blasted correct?

It could also be coming from somewhere else in your system as any junk will collect at the pins or jets of a waterblock.
 
I always clean mine with a toothbrush and distilled water, that is, like TN said, after you remove the top. If that is not a new block, your CPU block probably has the same problem.
 
A little ketchup on a toothbrush works for me. You should invest in some non corrosive additives for your water loop...

I'm not joking, ketchup (or toothpaste I've been told) cleans copper really well.

I got the AC installed by Sharka which was completed and picked up on 3-3-06 from Sharka. I bought the kit brand new from them. Funny thing is my Cpu waterblock is spotless from residue. Is this covered by warranty :rolleyes:
 
You dont need to worry about the goo, it happened to me once...

Which CPU cooler did you get? If it was a XT then I would definitely take that apart as well and check to make sure you don't have a problem like in the pic above.
