this really applies to a lotta things but for now its mainly because i have done a blowhole

i did a blowhole mod cutting a hole (obviously)... now i got a lot of metal dust everywhere... metal powder or something... how would i clean this up?... i cant wash it down in the sink or the metal is gonna get stuck in the pipes or something... i cant hose it down outside with a garden hose because the metal shreds isnt really biodegradable

what do i do to clean this?... there is a LOT of metal powder and i dunno how to clean this up... im thinking using a paper towel to wipe it down but theres a LOT to wipe.... not only that, ive used WD-40 when i cut it so if i try anything stupid, im gonna end up with an oily cover

i dont think ill worry about the WD-40 for now because i can always wash down oil with dishwashing detergent

help please, i need to clean this up and put it back on my computer in the next few days so i can use it for school

thanks

the best thing to do is to use a vaccume cleaner, even a household one will do, but only when its dry.

if you mucked around with WD40, your gonning to need a shopvac.

there realy is no other way to get them out when there "wet" except with a LOT of masking tape (using the sticky side to pick up the dust)

some people just leave the metal shards in the bottom of their cases :)
but i would not reccomend this

o yea,.... a vacuum cleaner... why didnt i think of that?
masking tape is also pretty clever... i must be slow today :(
thanks

what if i vacuum the dry spots and wipe of the wet part or something?

what do i do with the spots with WD-40?

Another trick to help avoid getting metal slivers in you is to use a maxi-pad use the sticky side to pickl up debris. Old trick I learned in a metal fabrication shop.

As for wiping up the wd-40 you could use some GOJO fast wipes from an auto parts store. Best thing about those are the chemical used in them evaporates quickly.

yeah gojo is a great degreser, or if you get any "citrus" engine degreser then you will beable to vaccume it up with a shop vac. but the bad thing about wd40 is its like glue... not good for cleaning.

and if you have nothing in it, taking it outside and hoseing it off after you degrease isnt a bad idea, the metal goes to the metal dust happy place, its not uggly and shiny like you would think... it sorta blends in with the grass... ill take a pic of the grass next to my garadge tomrow, ive dumped so much shit in it it kinda has a dull sheen, but its funny :p

hit it with an air compressor outside... then

hit hot deals, get yourself some free T-shirts somplace, once you get them get put some watter on them and wipe down your case.

if there are any realy messy parts, just wash them, get a bruch and get in there and clean it. if you like feel free to hose it down, or even wash it in your sink, the little metal dust should stay in suspension long enouph that it isnt a problem in your home pipes, and if you have a septic tank and not sewers i dont think a little bit of iron or aluminum dust is going to make a difference)

than id towle dry and hit with the compressor to get at what you missed, and if you have gunk all in your corners, some Q tips, work well,

but you shouldnt have to go that nuts air and a damp cloth should be all you need.
