Cleaning the CPU & MOBO

I bought some high proof alcohol from my pharmacist today to use to clean the preloaded gunk on my p5w dh mobo and e6600 c2d. I read a few places online to get >90% Isopropyl alcohol, so that's what I bought (I thought). I got home and took a better look at the bottle and it's "completely denatured" alcohol and it's 90% Ethyl alcohol. Is this going to make any difference? Is it ok to use to clean my CPU and MOBO?

Thanks
Bill

you know. we use alcohol over water because it evaporates quickly and removes the thermal paste that was on the CPU. If it evaporates quickly and is able to remove the compound, i'm quite sure it's fine.

Ethanol will work the same as Isopropynol.
The denatured part is just an additive that makes you puke if you drink it. (Ethanol is the same type that exists in spirits and beer, wine etc.)
Thanks
