Cleaning out preloaded win7 drivers?

Hopefully I'm getting the terminology correct but from some of the threads I've seen on other forums a bunch of folks are saying Win7 comes with some sort of pre-loaded Nvidia drivers that a program like CC Cleaner or Driver Sweeper can't detect and you have to manually remove them from your repository. Otherwise they interfere with any driver installs. I personally have not seen this -- used both 186.18 and 190.62 and Vantage/games played fine.

Any truth to this?

you can always open NV control panel cilck on sys info on bottom left and check the components tab.

If you aren't having any problems after installing the latest drivers I wouldn't worry about it unless you just want the hard drive space.

I usually let windows pick my drivers out and only switch them if I have problems. W7 hasn't failed me yet. I got over the obsession of having the latest and greatest drivers, reinstalling and cleaning every time there was a new release. Its not worth the trouble.
