how should i go about dusting and cleaning my case and hardware? i dont want just use a wet rag or whatever. any ideas?
 
If your talking about the inside get a bottle of compressed air and blow out all the stuff inside there. Or if you have some sort of very tiny non-static plastic vacuum and you have an extremely steady hand do it like that.

For the outside, a moist lint free soft cloth should do, but just be gentle with it.
 
You can buy special attachments to fit your vacuum, and vaccuum it out. Works for me.
 
Can air works pretty well, or a vaccum like already suggested, or if it happens you have an air compressor, you can get an air gun attachment, to get more PSi. Thats what I do.
 
cleaning out my case the last time was soooo much fun.....

lots and lots of dust. maybe because of my 5 fans, 2 in, 2 out, 1 cpu.

compressed air and vacuum got a majority of the crap inside. i have a 3m 'scotch brite high performance cleaning cloth' for the outside. that cloth really is great for everything, including but not limited to cleaning lcd surfaces, with a little bit of pressure it cleans smudges and such.

i really need something more though as the compressed air and vacuum don't get everything, just enough so i can put off cleaning it again.
 
yeah i use a compressor, (if you have an air tank you can get it filled for free at a gass station and never have to pay for air again)

for the inside of th case, a damp towle isnt bad for getting the case walls and botom, also use it on the outside, just dont touch components.

when you use air be sure that you have the fans held in place by something, (a skrew driver some wire, a finger) so they dont spin realy fast and kill themselves
 
Do what I do:

Take off all the sides, bring it into the garage. Get the workbench and set it out in the driveway and put the case on the workbench. Walk over to the cupboard and get out the gas leaf blower. Fire that puppy up and watch the dust fly like snow.
