I would use a microfiber cloth to clean fingerprints off the lens. Pick one up from any camera store for like $3....

would a chamois cloth be ok to use? and still do you know if a q-tip would be ok to use with rubbing alcohol?

I prob would not use rubbing alcohol, because it has other chemicals in there, plus it might take off any coating that your lens might have. As for a QTip, not sure. I would imagine that the cotton tips might be too harsh for the lens. But then again, I have wiped my lens (sony f717) with my shirt before without any problems...So I guess it would be okay without alcohol. But I would never do this to say a "L" series lens...

alocohol would probably take the coating off the lense.....if you went to CVS and picked up a lense cleaning kit (for glasses or the like) with the fluid, that would work fine. it includes the cloths needed too...alot.....i still have some left after a few months (and with my lens cap missing for my G6 i get firgerprints on it ALOT..DOh)
