I am trying to set up clark connect to monitor network traffic but cannot get it to work. All I want to be able to do is use the bandwidth monitor and merely have all the traffic pass through the box. All IP's on the network (individual pc's) are statically assigned and should remain so. NAT does not need to be used. Should my default gateway on my LAN interface be the IP of the WAN interface and the gateway of the WAN interface be the standard network gateway (assigned by the campus network admins)? Should the default gateway on the hosts be the LAN interface of the clark connect box? The setup of the network is users -> switch -> router(clark connect) -> switch(managed by the university) -> campus network. Thanks in advance for your help.

If you have the box setup as the gateway the traffic monitor should work the way you want it to.

As for monitoring network traffic - what are you using to do it? Also what version of CC are you running (home vs. office and version number please)?

Yes.

The box is set up as the gateway but traffic doesnt seem to go through it - pages just time out when I try to use the internet. I can however ping the LAN interface. I need to find out how much bandwidth our building uses so I know how much we need to order (we are trying to get off of the campus network).

It is the home edition version 2.1.

Do you have to turn NAT off somewhere?
