I am looking to setup a lab on ESXi with CUCM. After doing some research, it appears that Cisco allows you to do this since you are running in Vmware...

The only problem I am running into, I was able to get 8.6 from Cisco, but it is not bootable. I have done research on this, and a lot of people make their own version using a previous DVD and extracting the bootable sector out of it. What are you supposed to do if you do not have a previous version?

I "acquired" a version that was not bootable.

I also got a version of CUCM from a personal acquaintance that ALWAYS generated an error about 70% of the way through installation.

I've yet to find a install that works.
