Cisco 4003 IOS Supervisor Support?

I am looking at getting a Cisco 4003 and get a Supervisor that can support IOS. Something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/CISCO-Catal...otn=12&po=LPV&ps=63&clkid=5373250484449219096

I can't figure out if the the 4003 can take an IOS supported Supervisor engine. The Cisco documentation is lacking since it is EOL.

From what I remember, the 4000 series can take a Sup 1, 2, 3 and 4, but not 2+. 2+ introduced IOS in the Sups. CatOS is all from what I can remember. You're talking about a switch from 2004 or around that time.

Why would you want that giant power-hungry POS? Seriously the Cat 4006s the last place I worked were the absolute bane of our existence.

If you want to play with switches invest in a 3560 and get a copy of the "EMI" IOS for it. If you don't want to spend that much money just get a 3550.

Forget about ws-c4003 it only supports supervisor 1, that has only CatOS. You can't upgrade the supervisor on this chassis.

If you want IOS you need at least ws-c4006 with supervisor 3 or later.
