CIS vs CCD Scanning Tattoos

Hey all, have a buddy of mine who wants me to suggest to him a scanner for his tattoo business. From what little research I've done, what I've read is that CIS-type scanners are better at fine lines and print (so detailed tattoos sketches will show up well), but isn't as great on color as CCD scanners (for intricately colorful tattoos sketches)

I'm leaning towards a CIS type scanner for the outlines of these sketches to preserve finer points and details, and worrying less about color perfection and matching. Suggestions?
