Circuit City I/O Ext Hard Drive rebates?

So its 139.99, and the list the rebate(s) as 100 making it 39.99 afterwards. Not a bad deal. But you have to pick it up in store and of course when I went, they were out. Maybe next week I'm told. But anyway, there are 2 different 50 dollar rebates that you can print out and send in. One is directly to Circuit City, the other appears to be to the I/O people only if you bought it at C.C. But....each require the original UPC code and receipt. How does one work that out? Am I missing something?

I had picked up a monitor on the same order, which can be shipped, and that had a flat 100 dollar rebate through C.C., so no problems there.

Does anyone know if C.C. has a bad track record with these kinds of things?

Only one rebate requires the original UPC code. The other only requires a copy.

anyone know what brand hdd is actually in this and also what chipset for the controller? please say it isn't the prolific
