Cingular has kicked off its cell phone based mobile banking initiative which allows customers to use their phones to pay for goods and services.

The agreements will allow customers of its Cingular Wireless arm, which is being rebranded as AT&T, and participating banks to manage their accounts and pay bills electronically by using an application on their cell phones.

now when you lose your phone not only do you need to worry about somebody running your minutes over, you need to worry about them maxing out your credit cards and over drawing your bank account too.

True I guess.

Anyway this stuff is interesting. I just picture you carrying a cell phone or pda in the future that controls everything. Has your id info so you can present it, unlocks your car and house, acts like a credit card, etc. Hell even control your tv, lights, etc.

Personaly I think this is cool but will not be able to use it untill sprint does something like it.

After what they did to all the people in cali, nothing could make me think about getting service from them.  If I were one of those people i'd hire princegrinch to bomb them.
