chumbo orders after 07/22

last week after reading all the threads about chumbo getting BFG 6800 GT cards in on thursdays, and filling the last week worth of orders, i ordered one hoping i would get it tomorrow (7/30) i just called them and they said they weren't getting a shipment in today and wouldn't be for 2-4 weeks. :mad: doom 3 is next week and i want my card damnit! /rant

so if anyone ordered after 7/22 post in here if you get a shipment confermation email

I don't have a card yet for my new rig... I feel your pain.

I am more concerned in getting a card that will last then having it for the day the
Newest game comes out. This is only the begining of the new games.
Be Patient like the rest of us.
 
damn i am blind, i did a search and didn't even see that thread :( the anger of not getting my new shinny card must be clouding my vision :D
 
I understand how you feel, I am just lacking the vid to put together my shiny new machine.
I need to have it ready for my Comp Studio once I get back to school in three weeks.
I am starting to get nervous. :eek:
 
eVGA is taking orders on thier 6800GT that will ship on 08/02

PNY's fake Lifetime almost got me till I read the fine print.

i'm pissed as I was expecting to get this card from them sooner, i just called and he said 2-3 weeks.. WHAT!!!!! this is bullshit man... now i'm just screwed
 
The way I see it is, the people who are to impatient to wait...
will drop their order and get their card elsewhere...
I hope so because it will free up a slot for me! :eek: :D :p

"I know these cards are backordered. I placed my order on 7/21
and I am patiently awaiting its arrival. I would like to know where my
order is on the long backorder list? "

There response today...

"We do not currently have an availability date or estimated shipping date
for this product. You will receive tracking information by email once
your order has shipped.
We will not give out any other info."

Basically, they didn't answer my question. Doesn't bode well for us getting our cards next week.

Also sent an email to BFG. No response yet.

Yup, it's going to be a long annoying wait. I preordered now from two places and both are backordered with no eta.. :rolleyes:
 
Just got a reply from BFG...

Hi, thanks for contacting us.

I can tell you that we continue to prioritize Chumbo's orders to us, and we will be continually shipping batches of 6800 GT cards to Chumbo over the next few weeks as we play catch up to the high volume of orders we are getting. That means Chumbo will also be shipping these cards to their customers over the same time period.

haha im glad i chose overnight delivery, i picked up doom 3 today, and ill have my videocard tomarrow!!!! sweet....


im at work now so that bad news is i havent had the chance to play yet, i think ill hold off till i get the videocard and go from there. 8)
 
WTF is this shit? I ordered a GT on 7/19 and the ultras are shipping before them? Yea, makes sence, get the most expensive item out the door sooner so less people cancel their order.. /me grumbles
 
tech i didnt get an email i logged into their website and tahts whre i saw it shipped, check see if your GT has shipped?

I checked my email and my chumbo account twice today, nothing about it shipping. They probably just got a batch of the ultras and not GT's.. :(

Yea but the bfg is still a better card for the same price, so the waiting sucks but I'll be happier when i get it than if i got some other card
 
Got my BFG today!!!! so happy, im at work now tho 8( but its waiting at home for me 8*)

gonna go reformat windows and reinstall doom and have a blast. I put some benchies up in the forum eventually.
 
Mines sitting in my computer room at home now. Can't install it for another 4 hours till I get home. Doom3 here I come!

"We are shipping cards tomorrow am. I do not know how many are on their backorder log, so I am unable to tell you if your card will be shipping. Check with them on Monday.

Thank you"

I think Im the only person left who hasnt cancelled anyways. :)

is that for the gt, the ultra, or the vanilla.. or all of them?

edit: i never cancelled either :) number 6 was too good to give up!
edit2: nevermind, saw that you ordered a GT in your other post! horray! ill be getting it soon!
 
Yay, the nice BFG lady was right, mine shipped today!

They even upgraded mine to overnight for free. Must make a note to write something nice about them.

Congrats guys. You had more patience than I did. I was able to secure an eVGA GT last week from Newegg. Received the GT and DOOM 3 on the same day.

DOOM 3 is worth the wait. Great game.

All is good with my eVGA card at the moment.

They shipped! I ordered a BFG 6800 GT from Chumbo on 7/20 and they just shipped today.
I was hoping for 2 weeks ago... but whatever. At least it'll be here soon. I just home my neighbors (they're both teachers & have summers off) are here to receive it so I don't have to wait until wed. to pick it up since I'll be at work.
Funny thing is I was starting to have second thoughts about getting the card now since I've already finished Far Cry, my 5900 handles Doom 3 pretty well, and Doom 3 doesn't impress me nearly as much as Far Cry. There is way, way too much hunting around for f'n PDAs in Doom 3 to get through doors. Of course, now that it's shipped I can't wait lol :D
 
O.K. Cant believe it. Chumbo shipped my card next day and I didn't pay the extra money for it! Great service to say the least.

The card is the "new" blue PCB model with the twin fans and the copper heatpipe mem cooler....very nice......too bad I am watercooling it. :)
