Chromebooks flooding Craigslist

I was just curious if anyone could fill me in on why Craigslist is filled with Chromebooks? I'm guessing in the next 3-6 months the average price for any chromebook will be 100$

Its already around 150$
 
Why? Because (at the the risk of sounding like a dick) people in general are not particularly smart.

They went to the store and saw a shiny "laptop" for $200-$250 that looked like all the other shiny laptops around it that cost $400-700 and thought to themselves "Hell yea, amazing deal". If a sales person was involved they may have told the person that it's not a typical laptop. The sales person may even have demonstrated that it's not a typical laptop. Then, when the buyer gets it home and realizes it's not a laptop at all, it's a browser in a physical shell, they realize it's not what they really wanted at all.

SO MUCH THIS.

We get 3-4 returned a week, cause the Joe Average sees the price, and buys, even though we tell them it is NOT a TRUE PC LAPTOP...

Then they make an excuse and try to avoid the restocking fee... Opened it and used it? Nope.
 
This was happened to Linux netbooks.

That said it could also be some serious theft going on in your area.

Sigh, I would have sold you my Acer C7 for $130+$5-10 shipping. It has Ubuntu installed on it too. Granted you probably bought the Samsung one instead.
