Choosing practical cases with no windows

Hi,

I run a small BTO/CTO computer business and am in search for new cases. I'm looking for brushed aluminum, glossy, or other modern looks. Windows are pretty much a no go unless they're small or just an accent. We had been using Lian-Li, but people are getting board of them and would like more options. We're looking for a small MicroATX tower, small-mid tower, mid tower, full tower, and HTPC. Price isn't a huge issue, but we serve all home user markets. If the case comes with a powersupply, it has to be high quality. I've been doing a lot of research on cases, but I figured I'd ask your opinions too, this forum is really great.

If you're looking for ideas, www.newegg.com has a huge selection of cases--806 different ones at the moment. You can, of course, go straight to the manufacturer if you see something you like.

I dunno about the brushed aluminum part, but inwin makes some good cases. Before you forumites start rapping on me about a "beige box", I must tell you that Inwin cases have the best power supplies i've seen in a standard, affordable case.

Buy some antec cases is my opinion. The lifestyle series (the sonata and the HTPC version) look very nice(piano polish finish) and come with the Antec PSUs which are very high quality.

the new lian-li flipped cases you must be doign a good job though, if they're getting spoiled on lian-li's....

Yes, the new Lian-Li cases are very nice and we do use them; however, people like options. Consumers don't really care who makes the case as long as it looks nice. I really like Antec cases, but they're just not a great option for what I'm doing. The ones that fit our needs have large "ANTEC" logos on them that we'd have to remove.

The Antec "Sonata II" has the look but not the big Antec logo. Still, I'm not sure if the finish is on par with the tastes of your customers.

Antec also showed their new MicroBTX case, the BK640 which will likely be popular among system builders. The BK640 is more spare than other Antec cases, but is expected to be fairly inexpensive.]

It's very simple, clean, metallic, and elegant. The logo is small and inconspicuous, you could easily replace it with a corporate sticker or something on the front.

I definetly am not a Sonanta fan. Those things are boring black boxes with a HUGE Antec logo embossed into the side of the case. The worse part is the chrome-plated piece of plastic that looks like a pill capsule in the middle of the case that covers the front ports. It ruins the entire aesthetic.

Yes, I'm also very fond of the BK640. Will that be out in Q1 '05 as well?
