Choosing between 3 ram brands

I'm recommending a build for a friend. Asus P7P55D EVO mobo, i5-750 chip, Sapphire 5770 card. He doesn't want me to assemble it for some reason, and is having a custom build retailer do it. The components are somewhat limited. In choosing memory, the options are Corsair, Kingston, and OCZ.

He won't be doing any overclocking, and I doubt he'll notice any minor differences in speed (the build is actually more than he needs) . The OS will be windows 7 home premium 64 bit. He does want some future upgradability.

The memory I'm looking at is -
Kingston 4 gb (2x2gb) HyperX pc3-10600 ddr3 1333 CL7 (7-7-7) 1.65 v.
Kingston 4 gb (2x2gb) Valueram PC3-10600 ddr3 1333 MHz CL9 1.5 v.
OCZ Platinum 4 gb (2x2gb) Low Voltage pc3-10666 ddr3 1333 MHz CL7 (7-7-7-20) 1.65 v.
OCZ Platinum 4 gb (2x2gb) Low Voltage pc3-12800 ddr3 1600 MHz CL7 (7-7-7-24) 1.65 v.
Corsair 4gb (2x2gb) XMS3 PC3-12800 ddr3 1600 MHz CL8 (8-8-8-24) 1.65 v.


I've read somewhere that the 1.65 v. ram is just overclocked 1.5 v. ram, so I'm wondering if I should go with 1.5 v. memory (there are some other choices at CL8 and CL9). Since, my friend probably won't know the difference, I've also considered just getting the most reliable set of ram (and thinking 1.5 v. might be preferable for that reason as well).

Any help or advice from you guys would be greatly appreciated.
 
Ideally, you do not want to exceed 1.65v for the DRAM because the memory controller is built into the CPU for the i7. If he's willing to consider G.Skill, they have a few good low-voltage (1.5-1.6v) DDR3 1600 kits.

Of the kits that you listed, I would probably select the last one (Corsair). Voltage is still safe at 1.65v and Corsair is a brand I trust. There's no real-world difference between CL7 and CL8 so its up to him if he wants to go with the tighter timings in the OCZ kits.
 
of those id say the kingston hyperx is the way to go if you can get some parts elsewhere id say find some Mushkin

and higher clocked memory is actually just a higher clocked version of the same memory i personally would rather stick with the 1.5(JEDEC says thats where its supposed to be anyways) and then OC it to the 1.65
 
Thanks for the help, guys. Regarding the Mushkin, I didn't list it because the retailer only offers a single 4 gb configuration with 2 gb sticks and it's at 1066 MHz, but here it is for consideration -

Mushkin 4 gb (2x2gb) Performance EM3-8500 Series PC3-8500 ddr3 1066 MHz CL7 (7-7-7-21) 1.5 v.

This is actually a little more money than the Corsair 1600 MHz ram, not sure why. My friend is going to make a decision tomorrow. I'll show him your comments and let him decide.

I wouldn't go with 1066MHz RAM in a DDR3 build. 1600MHz is the sweet spot for overclocking and provides very good all-around performance.
