Choosing a display: GUI design tasks

Hello everyone,

I'm on the market for a new display. At this moment i have a Nec Multisync LDA2470WNX. It's a great monitor, mas but when working with graphics ( lots of soft, pastel colors, smooth gradients ... and strong black to dark gray gradients ) i notice that the transitions between colors are somehow not as good as i would want them to be...


So at this moment i'm facing the market for a new monitor.

I will have this 24 for gaming, so the new one will be only for work ...

So, for now i saw 3 possible contenders

- NEC LCD2690WUXI 2

- HP LP2475W

- Apple MB382LL/A 24" 14ms Widescreen WUXGA Mac LED Cinema Display


I'm kind falling for the NEC and Apple side ... don't know about the HP.

Don't know ... what do you think, can you help me out?

NEC 2490wuxi. About $100 more than the Apple here in Canada and you get the A-TW-Polarizer, internal LUT, 2 DVI & 1 VGA port, and it's matte instead of glossy. It is also sRGB, not of wide gamut like the HP and 2690wuxi.
