Hi guys, I've decided to deck out my Stacker 830 with 120mm fans connected to a 7 channel fan controller. I've been googling for ages now but specific information on something as mundane as fans seems to be hard to come across.

I have some requirements that I need to meet, so I was wondering if fellow [H]'ers have any fans that match what I'm looking for. Basically the requirements are as follows:

- 120mm x 120mm x 25mm (a fair few seem to be 38mm thick)
- Have a RPM sensor lead. It can be in the form of a 3pin (ideal) or a 4pin molex with a seperate RPM cable (which I will use a 4pin > 3pin adaptor)
- Have a high CFM. No particular preference, but I would like around 70 CFM or higher.

How loud or quiet they are is not an issue. The focus is shifting as much air as possible when I need to, but for the most part I expect them to be off or used on a low setting. I also don't care if they are plain black fans, or every colour of the rainbow, but black would do fine :)

I had my eye on the Thermaltake A1280, but from the limited images I found, I wasn't able to tell if it had an RPM sensor or not.

Many thanks

Can your fan controller control 12v-0v? If not and only to around 7v minimum, then you will want to have a decent noise fan because even at 7v, they will be loud if they are screaming at 12v.

Just somthing to keep in mind.

120mm Yate loons are good fans, but I dont know about 70CFM, but they are considered a good noise/CFM ratio fan.

Best fan is made by sanyo denki. it's 38mm deep and moves 110cfm of air, it's got rpm monitoring w/ 3-pin. it has no motor noise and just makes the noise of pushing air/wind. PM J-mag for some, excellent supplier, and the fans are ideal for running 7v or below.

i second buying from J-mag in the fs forum .. i got three black yate loons SLs from hiim and they are sweet.... runnin them at 5v at the moment... so they are freakin silent on my bip3...
