Chivalry: Medieval Warfare

I for some reason will only play a crossbow man and haven't played any other class since the first day.which i find really fun and challenging. but also really annoying since the hit boxes are a bit screwed up for arrows. Though i can't stand any game mode except objective mode.

0_o then what's the point of even playing chivalry? The melee weapons are the best part. Crossbow is just another other shooter with a slight arc to the projectile....

Archers are such low peasantry.

What sort of cpu are people using for this? 42-64 man servers may be pushing the boundaries of my oc'ed q9550. Seeing solid 60fps on some servers, other times dropping to mid 40s. Using medium detail.
Time for IB?

Its a free weekend on steam. if any one hadn't noticed. If you haven't tried it give it a shot, Chivalry can be mad fun.

Edit: also there are so many noobs playing right now you wont get smoked by the regulars as much so its easier to learn.

Though the server browser was kinda messed up last night.the devs were supposed to have fixed it last night, not sure if they did though

First of all, very cool concept of a game.

but the execution for this one is TERRIBLE, the developers are completely incompetent, there are game breaking bugs, endless glitches, and people that run around with hacks.

I know it looks cool, it does. but when you're actually playing the game you see how broken it really is.

this is the only game from the 500+ that I bought that i regret, even for the low starting price.

do not buy.

I'm gonna have to agree, unfortunately.

The game has very noticeable input/mouse lag and a 62 FPS cap by default.
You can "fix" it by manually going through .ini files but there still is some lag and multiplayer FPS are still capped at 90 to keep their netcode from breaking.

Furthermore you can't play in Borderless Windowed.
There's no option for it anywhere and the game uses timers to actively scan for window style changes.
I confirmed it would work just fine when you apply it manually (WinAPI...) but the game always re-applies its default window style a moment later!

Gameplay itself: Floaty controls, poor animations.... didn't bother checking it out further at that point.

Really glad I tried it when it was for free on Steam for a weekend.
If I had paid more than 5€ for this I would have requested a refund immediately.

Chivalry is great you just need to put the time in to get good.

Though I stopped playing after the latest patch, since all i play is maa and they made it so you cant dodge while in combat, which kinda defeats the purpose of maa.

I finally bit on this game and I'm glad I did!

64 player objective server alllllll day.

Yes, there are glitches and yes, you have fiddle with some settings/ini files to get it working properly.... But isn't that a part of PC gaming? (I almost try to think of this game as a really well-done mod etc)

Anyways, bout to try a few rounds while playing the Game of Thrones soundtrack in the BG.... yeye!

Bought this game while I am deployed can't wait to get home and play it. I played over the free weekend before I left and loved it.

I'm just kinda bumping this thread because I've been having such a great time with the game etc....

Bought this game on summer steam sale for 6$ along with 15 of my buddies. Absolutely amazing amount of fun

This game is so much fun and the depth of combat is amazing. The first few hours you have no idea what you are doing, but once you do some reading/watch videos you understand how deep it goes. I'm rank 19 now and am finally getting the hang of combos, but I still suck at feinting and reading feints.
