I have an ABIT KT7-RAID motherboard thats acting flaky, with intermittent BIOS errors on boot-up. Its the VIA KT133 chipset. Id like to transplant the parts to a new motherboard. The CPU is a Socket A (462) Thunderbird 1.2 GHz and the RAM is 2x 512MB PC133 (non-DDR).
I havent followed AMD chipsets since I built this system several years ago (really bad experience with this combo). What are my options as far as chipsets that support this CPU/RAM combination? Id like to avoid VIA altogether, as this system has been frustrating since the day it was built.
If anyone can recommend a compatible ATX motherboard, please do so. Preferences would be one that has USB 2, Firewire and no onboard video (and not VIA chipset).
