Chipset WC block

I'm looking to get a waterblock for my DFI NF-4 Ultra-D that I'm going to mod for SLI when I put the waterblock on.

I just need something that about the same thickness as the stock piece and cools well, price isn't a concern. However, I don't want to purchase from out of the country.

The problem is though, I don't think I have enough room at all. If you look at the Ultra-D there are only a few CM between the PCB and the graphics card mounted there.

You probably won't have enough room for a heatsink. I have an ASUS A8N with 2 ultras and I ended up using an AC twinplex. DD makes a block specifically for this purpose.
I can tell you from my experience that wc'ing the NB is worth it. In my system that was the hottest chip on the board.

It's the only chip on my board (proc included) to go over 40*C. When I put in my new cooler, I want to get rid of the pesky little wine of it while I'm installing it. And this is conventient because I will SLI mod it.

dont bother, just use a heat sink if there is enough clearance for a water block, there is enough clearance for this, and this is serious overkill for a chipset as long as you got good air flow imo lol

If you go to SPCR's forum there are a couple guys there with the DFI board and that Zalman cooler who had to bent some of the pins inorder to get that cooler to fit.

I plan on getting one of these when I get my DFI board (waiting for dual cores to come out).

You might want to get the measurements on that block before you buy because I don't think it's going to work well.

The TwinPlex by Aqua Computer will not do the job from what I have been hearing. However, even the stock DFI cooler gets in the way of a SLI setup

Polarflo has mech drawings for their blocks on their site, not sure but does this look like it's going to fit? The thread they use are standard SAE 3/8" or 9/16-24 and fit all of their TT Series blocks.

Well I was thinking of getting an Asetek WaterChill kit, with the single 120mm rad and 3 waterblocks.

This one to be precise: http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-wat-20.html

I want to know if the WB will work on the chipset that is provided, if it doesn't then I'll get the one that has a single waterblock and buy a chipset block. I don't really need to WC my gfx card either, but it won't really save me money.

Will that fit the dfi ultra d? From what I've read, theres only one block, and its from a german company or somewhere around there.

edit: that looks to big

The twinplex will not fit for sure, I have the board and the twinplex right in front of me. BTW how do you mod the Ultra D for SLI? I checked the prices and the Ultra D OEM from newegg is 130 compared to the SLI nf4 from dfi for 190..

Overkill for cooling perhaps but not overkill if you're looking to shut up a fairly annoying fan.

Koolance's CHC-A05 fits very well on all the SLi boards.

That is kind of hillarious ;) Koolance was taking those off the market as fast as they could blow their stock out till someone noticed they work for those SLI chipsets. Now they are stock standard again. I have one of those sitting in front of me and they should work on any chipset no matter where it is

yes, you caught us.... :) why kill what works though? The GPU180 sure looks better and performs better by a long shot, but if it dosent fit who cares how pretty it is. The CHC-A05 on the other hand, works well enough for a chipset and fits anywhere. it was just a good business decision to keep it. :p

here's a chipset wb, for all you sli lovers, since there's such a limit on space...but the catch is, you have to purchase them from an overseas retailer

These are the Zern coolers and can be special ordered through Sharka Corp.
