Does cooling PWMIC and the chipset help in more overclocking ? I see ppl cooling them but i dunno if it helps in OC or not, my PWMIC goes to 66C priming but i read that it can take even more heat so theres no worry.. so then y cool ??
more then just the CPU are limiting factors in stability. a cpu can take much more then 70c you just cant overclock the shit out of it and run it at that temp. same goes for the motherboard. these chipsets where designed to run at certain speeds. most overclocks push the limit of the chipset. same goes for pwmic many times you are pushing limits on power usage. if any one doesn't work 100% it causes it all to fail.
I just read the other day from an intel spec sheet that the mb temps are fine under 50C; and of course if you can keep your cpu temps at or under 60 (under load).
This is nice because no matter what I do, what thermal compound I use, or how many times I remove and reapply the stuff on the NB & SB, I can't get my mb temps to get below 39 at idle, usually around 40-41 and under load, gets up to 45-46.
