chipset cooler

is there much of a point in buying a chipset cooler for modern MB's considering most of them seem to have fans. would i just be better off to change the thermal paste on the stock chipset cooler to arctic silver and not waste money on a new chipset cooler?

im probly getting the Epox EP-9NDA3J nForce3

Most people buy aftermarket replacements to either replace a failed OEM solution, or for lower noise. Just because the heatsink has a fan integrated into it doesn't make it any good (read: Asus A8N series). Changing up to a better solution doesn't seem to be a waste of money to me.

Using Arctic Silver versus the stock thermal pads usually seen is always a good thing.
