I am going to get an aa8xe and was going to overclock, but i was wondering if it was really worth it to pay another $50 for a chipset block? If i leave the stock HSF on the northbridge and overclock will it be sufficient or do i need the chipset block?

i don't care how cool i look or [H]ard, i need to be practicle, best money vs performance ratio.

don't get it then, your stock NB heatsink will be just fine, you might put a small fan on the top of that if you want it to be cooler, but for FSB up to umm 290 or even more, you will be fine. think of it like this, paying $50+adding heat to the loop+adding resterction to the loop+adding more tubing= not worth it if you ask me, especially if you are doing it just for the hell of it ( I am saying that becase it really will not help your OC, you might reach the limit of your chip or ram way b4 you reach the limit of your NB.

Your much better off using a Thermalright NB1C or the Swifty NB air cooler. The NB doesn't really benefit much more from water and it will just add another restriction to your loop.

This also depends on the mobo you got because on AMD64 mobo's they dont really get that hot since the memory controller is on the chip it self so unless you are going for a super chilled computer then i would say spend your money on a nicer waterblock or something that would help your performance more (better rad?)

you dont even need to get an aftermarket NB cooler with that board, the stock NB heatsink is pretty capable on its own.
