Well, I haven't been able to get any recommendations in my other thread, so I am considering the Chimei 221D. It is my understanding that Chimei makes the panels for essentially all of the current generation of 22" widescreen panels, correct? And as such, the only real differences are in such things as the frame/stand/bezel, connectivity for USB, HDMI and audio, and other minor things. Otherwise, they are the same screen, and should be substantially the same quality and performance. Is there a flaw in this logic?

I certainly was not familiar with the Chimei brand/company prior to looking for a new monitor, but I see no great reason to be concerned about them. If anyone has any thoughts, or if you have this monitor, I welcome your input. Thank you.

LOL I ordered one after asking to no response. So far, I'm happy, though I haven't done much with it. Vista is giving me a hard time with running Madden, so I haven't done any real gaming on it. Similar story with my HDTV card drivers. For now, it is looking pretty good. I have no reason to believe that it is any different from the other monitors with the same screen.
