well, i just received my brand new mechanical keyboard from amazon.com. i noticed that there isnt a lot of info on here about cherry ML switches so i thought i would post a mini review of this keyboard. \
you may have noticed something odd in the title of my thread. this is because my "new" keyboard according to amazon, is really a refurb that they didnt actually fix. the five, six, plus and minus keys on the board do not work at all and it even came with a nice little red tag from the inspector informing me that this was the case, so i will be returning this product. however that has little to do with the switch feel and layout of the board and everything to do with the seller not being honest.
first off i do love the switches, they are very light, but still remain tactile. they are also fairly quiet, not as quiet as my old rubber dome logitech, but much quieter than other mechanical keyboards i have heard. i am really enjoying the feel of them as i type this. the board itself is "slim line" the keys are shorter than a normal sized keyboard, but not as small and flat as a normal laptop.
the layout itself is interesting, but the spacebar is offset towards the left side, which is a bit annoying since i use my right thumb to space and have to extend it slightly left in order to avoid hitting the alt key.
the keys feel very nice, but the build quality of the rest of the keyboard is obviously cheap, not at all what one would expect from a board which is supposed to retail new for $80.
