Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone

I liked the first game. This looks a lot more generic and bland. Looks like every other open world, post apocalyptic scavenger game. Maybe it won't be that bad though.

I've been eyeing the first one for awhile now, especially since it's on sale for $3 with the Enhanced version regularly.
But I'm not sure since people I know say I won't like it since it's not Stalker lite, and nothing like it.

I've seen game play of it and it looks good and all, but I've been burned before. What are your opinions on it?

Its okay. I didn't know much about it before playing it, and ended up liking it. Lower budget so things feel a bit janky but generally fun. It has a base building aspect, you need to balance some decisions/character relations, and pick your team for certain tasks for the ending mission similar to Mass Effect 2 if you played that. Maps are smaller and there are a number of them. Inventory, consumables, and whatnot are similar to STALKER. I would say it is somewhat of a mix of STALKER and Mass Effect. Story is alright, better than many modern games. Production values are middle of the road with some nice map artwork and whatnot.

This sequel doesn't seem to be doing it for me. 3rd person for shooting and seems to dive into monsters and whatnot too much.

Burned out of $3? It's worth every bit of that and more. I had a great time with it for 30 hours or so and it's pretty unique, nothing out there quite like it.

Not sure about this one yet, the 3rd person stuff is really throwing me off. Plus, we are very close to the release of Stalker 2.

You had me at Mass Effect 2.

I mean burned as in I bought the game, installed it and fucking hated it after the first 1hr, even after watching plenty of game play.
I'm going to go ahead and grab it and thank you both if I love it, and blame you both if I fucking hate it. :D

While the first one didn't reach the level of its obvious inspiration, STALKER, it did have some interesting aspects to it. For instance it's the only game I recall playing where the ending was influenced by choices you make throughout the game where you don't have to replay the game to explore the other paths. We'll see if this new one manages to be unique too, or just an also-ran next to STALKER 2 (which is guaranteed to be good because I pre-ordered it).

So FPS perspective is now added in. I have a bit more interest, but it looks kind of underwhelming still. Suppose that happens when you overstretch yourselves. Looking better than before though.
