Chenming vs. Aspire?

After some recent info from Jen, I am no longer going to build my own case. At least not for the next year. After a year or so, I will have my case built for me by a company that works with aluminum.

So I need to choose a small case and so far the only difference I see between the Chemming and Aspire is that the Qpack (Aspire) has a removable mobo tray. Or does the Chemming also have it and I am just not seeing it? The powersupply doesn't matter to me as I will be using my own.

The Chenming?

Cause as I see it, it is riveted on and it doesn't appear to have anything under the mobo tray in the side shot.
 
Ah, yes. Chenming's site is now up again so I was finally able to check out the pics they have and it does indeed have removable tray.

QFT. And since both PSU's probably blow, you should get a different one regardless. Bottem line, get the chenming, since its $5 cheaper.
 
I have the chenming. It does have the removeable mobo tray. Supposedly according to the specs on websites the q pack is a little thinner, but from what i can tell from pictures it looks the same. The case is bigger than i expected, but thats a price im willing to pay for upgradeablilty over shuttles, also it costs less. The biggest problem i have is with temps being high, i just put a zalman 7000b alcu in there though and it seems to have helped alot. Also another annoying thing is your limited in what cpu coolers u can use because of a support bar going across right over where the cpu is. I am using the stock PSU and it seems to be fine.

I dropped a lamp on just the case cover and the mobo tray on the top. The mobo tray was easy to straighten out. The case cover took a bit more work, but i got it back on there fine.

I think the case cooling actually works better with the case cover on because it creates kind of a vacuum and pulls air in from the front. My room is pretty hot thought usually 28C

My HDD light doesnt work but i dont really care. I remember someone on the SFFtech.com forums said that the temp probes that come with the case are pretty accurate. They seem ok to me but i have nothing to compare them too.

Also i think the windowless is better because i have read about people having nice big scatches after removing the cover a couple of times. Theres some scratching on the inside of my case so im lucky theres now windows.
 
yeah, they kind of took windows to the extreme with this case. i mean, three windows? come on! i'm gonna get the windowless version, and if i want to later, then ill make a project of adding ONE window in the side.
 
Thanks for the input. I was never a fan of windows on PCs, so I too am looking at the windowless version.
