i was wondering if anyone has this case and if they might be able to post some pics of mods they ave done to it...looking to mod this case but am not sure of the best way to go about it...just trying ot get some ideas.also if you guys know of anywhere selling a windowpanel to this case...i'd pretty much love you forever.

I have that case, and truth be told... I REALLY dont like it.
I do have a swiftech 2x120mm Rad on top and it does pretty well, just be sure to have the barbs at the back of the case or else it is hard to get your dvd/cd-roms to fit.
I also have found that the bottom area where the HD cages are make it a tight fit if you put your pump in the bottom (I have an eheim 1250 and it is a tight fight where the outlet barb is and the bottom most HD cage.

I modded an 8"x10" window in the bottom section of the door, and one 80mm fan on the door as well, to shoot some air in right behind the optical drives. Sorry, no pics.

I did enjoy this case, as it was both my first custom build case, AND my first modded case! :)

The 90mm fan above the power supply is especially sweet, and great for helping to remove more heat from it. One of these days I'll mod a window (that matches the bigger one in the door) into the top of the case. :cool:

In fact, the only downside to mine was that it's a steel case, so even when it's empty, it's close to 50 pounds!!! :eek:

first custom build here as well and i want to venture into modding...im putting well over 1300 dollars into this build and well im sort of a perfectionist. you mentioned that the fan area above the psu is 90mm heh book i got with the case says different (120mm) i figured it was not that big.
 
opting to get a pre cut window panel for this case

SPA-CB is the model number for the panel at least the chieftec version of it...but i cant seem to find anyone that is selling it. there is a listing on tigerdirect.ca but it is no longer available to purchase...

i am going to use the panel i have now as a practice one but i want something in the mean time...anyone know where i can find one...or if im able to purchase one from one of you.

Well, double check it on your case. Mine was 90mm, but it's also ~4 years old now, and it's entirely possible for them to have upgraded it to a 120mm size. If you're not sure, it's easy to think of it like this:
80mm = 3" diameter
90mm = 3.5" diameter
120mm = 5" diameter
and the stamped grill area should be somewhere in the vicinity of those measurements. :)

(oh yeah, and it's easy to remove the stamped grill for the top fan, for better airflow, but be careful doing it with the lower fans, since it might be pretty easy to goof up the area where those purple fan adaptors snap into. :) )
