Checking Disk on Every Boot Up

i got a lexar media 128mb usb jump drive. i've been using it fine, but then i plugged it in before booting up. i got an error and couldnt boot up. after removing the jump drive i get an "ntldr is missing" error. It seems windows was suddenly trying to boot to my backup hard drive. Then I unplug my ide 2nd hard drive and everything boots up, with a disk checking on a partition of the main sata drive. Now i have the ide drive plugged in, but every time i boot up a disk check runs on a partition of my sata drive (not the windows partition, but one where i keep most of the games and programs). I'm not sure if the jump drive is really related to the problem or not. help.

Do you ever let the disk check finish? If so, is it sucessful? If you are running an NT-based OS, look into the command "AT". It's a scheduling manager type thing that lets you set up things like that, and there is a clear command that goes with that. AT /delete

That should fix your checking problem.
 
the disk check always finishes successfully. Where do i type that command in? forgive me but you lost me at 'at'.........
I'm using xp by the way...so does 'at' not apply?
 
you will run that command from a command prompt, which you can access by typing cmd at the run box off the start menu
