So my Microsoft wireless gaming receiver decided that I haven't been paying enough attention to it lately so it committed suicide while it was sitting next to my computer doing nothing. It won't even light up or get recognized on 3 different computers in multiple usb ports :(
So I got a few questions.

1. Is there any super special secret magical way to bring my receiver back to life?
2. In the highly likely case that I can't fix it, has anyone tried the cheapo knock offs of the receiver? I was looking at these and want to know if they work well for anyone on here.

3. Or does anyone know of a place where I can get a genuine receiver or controller/receiver combo for cheap?

I have ordered alot of stuff from Dealextreme & they are very reliable. The overall build quality of the products are superb.

You could try just calling Microsoft...

I had a dead "Microsoft Gaming Mouse"... I forget the name but it was really made by Razer. I called them up and I didn't even have a receipt, they just overnighted me a new one. Worth a shot eh?

I had a MS one but my dog chewed the USB cord. Luckily I also have a wired Xbox 360 controller and I use that now.
