if you happen to live in an area that has a Fry's Electronics store locally, you can buy the full OEM software there. As far as I know, they're the only retailer (B&M stores) that are selling actual full OEM copies, but if anyone else knows of other retailers doing similar things I'm sure they'll make mention of it.
I know legally it would be wrong to use it once you have finished studying but would there be anyway for MS to block or detect the use of the key once you have finished studying?
What will happen with the MSDNAA supplied key when you have finished studying? I am asking because I have one. I know legally it would be wrong to use it once you have finished studying but would there be anyway for MS to block or detect the use of the key once you have finished studying?
Unless you're using Enterprise, there should be no way for MS to tell. And even if you did have Enterprise, management like that would require them to associate every key they gave out with a student, and with that student's academic status. Not likely, but possible. What will happen with the MSDNAA supplied key when you have finished studying? I am asking because I have one. MicroCenter is a Canuckian retailer, ain't it? Wish we had some of those down here in the US, I hear good things about them all the time in the Hot Deals section, sometimes even better than the Fry's I have here in Vegas.
When you are no longer a registered student in a department that is a member of the MSDN Academic Alliance, you may no longer receive updates for your personal use computer. However, you may continue to use previously installed software on your computer, provided you continue to follow program guidelines.
You may not use the Program software for any for-profit software development.

Microcenter originated right here in Columbus, Ohio (more accurately, the suburb of Upper Arlington). Original store was in a mall on Lane Avenue about a mile from The Ohio State University campus. The main store moved years ago a few miles north, still in Columbus.
I use to go the store on Bethel Rd all the time before I moved the VA in 98.
I got my first Voodoo1 there; that is what I loved about MC, it is one of the few large retail stores that carries good hardware.
academic software discounts are just one reason that I, at 35 years of age, am still in college
another reason is, to paraphrase Wooderson: "That's what I love about these COLLEGE girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age. "
The other reason is because I have an unending desire to learn stuff
