xeon, C2Q, whatever. Whats the absolute cheapest one can get a s775 quad core for?
 
About 300 bucks for a Quad Core 6600 (which by taking it to 3ghz you save yourself about 800 dollars)

Unfortunately people are flaming their suppliers back and forth for not getting the G0 stepping

"ZOMG IT SAYS L9UM!" I got mine today and it was B3 from NCIX.com....running maybe 10 degrees hotter than my previous e6600 but i'm grabbing a zalman 9700 for it because stock just won't cut it on this beast!
