Now that im working in need to get "chuck" back online. so from what i gather ivy bridge will be compatible with socket 1155. So till those chips are release what do you think is the cheapest 1155 cpu i can use in my asus WS rev board to feed 4 gpu's till ivy bridge is released?

This?

1155 looks insane for prices.

Edit: A G620 just went on eBay for $61.55 - not exactly cheap, but almost reasonable.

above suggestion is definitely more than enough for gpu folding across 4 gpu's.

Yeah the 620 is the cheapest,

Your options should be very good. If you run the latest Nvidia GPU core, revision 2.20, and enable advanced methods (-advmethods), the GPU hit to the CPU is minimal. That means you won't need a high performance CPU to 'feed' the GPUs work units.

I'm running machines with 3 X GPU each, with CPU SMP Folding set to 8 threads (-SMP 8 on Socket 1155 and 1156 platforms). It remains to be seen though, if the newer GPU work series is the pattern for the future or just a short term project.
