Hi would like to know what you guys would look for, am after the cheapest GPU that can run HD video into two screens, would like HDMI VGA at least, i am thinking a GT 730? will that do the job?

My mate has a mobo(G1 Sniper) which only has one HDMI out, and he would like to run two screens(one tv one monitor).

Mainly for Youtube Video's and Horse Racing.

Was just covering in case the DP port was overlooked but it seems like that particular model doesn't have one.

GT640 handles it with ease. Running 1080p video on 2 screens plus a 3rd tv screen via HDMI.

If the motherboard he has allows the usage of the IGP and a video card at the same time (should show in bios settings) then any card will do as you would technically only need to output 1 display off that one card.

Otherwise the one consideration is even if a card has both a DVI and HDMI output it doesn't necessarily mean it can actually do both at the same time as the HDMI/DVI might be shared. Unfortunately this isn't really well documented in which cards have this restriction. Using VGA for one of the outputs should be fine however.

The other conisderation would be you will need to go with a GT 730 or higher to technically not downgrade from the Intel IGP.

Yeah i am worried about them being shared also, i need a hdmi and dvi output, or two HDMI inputs would also be good, can two HDMI inputs send to different screens with different sound?

usually, no. You can't typically have two audio streams and two video streams at once over HDMI like that. However, you can have an audio stream from HDMI and then one out of the onboard audio controller.

Something like a GT610 would work fine, but I don't know that I'd try to run two 1080p video streams at once on it. I would say go with a 730/740 if you want to have two HD streams at once.

Yeah ok.

Thinking something like this:

But can't find info on if it will run HDMI + DVI at the same time

Or say a 750TI that has multiple HDMI outs, it still cannot run two different audio/video streams?
