I'd like to build or buy something which would equal or outperform an x200t (1.86GHz c2d, 4GB ddr3, hitachi 500GB travelstar, x4500mhd). I'd like it to be quiet and small. No games would be played on it. Something like the HP slimline would be ideal, but they seem to have crappy specs for the price.

That answers most of the questions in the sticky. For what it doesn't:

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
As Cheap as possible

3) Where do you live?
The U.S.

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.
Just the computer itself. Bare essentials, no optical drives, software or anything like that.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
N/A

6) Will you be overclocking?
If possible. I don't really care, though.

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
I only need something which can be connected to two monitors; which is just about every modern video card. DVI/VGA are fine.

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Now.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
Nothing.
