I'm looking for a new core 2 duo mobo, and I all I really need it to do is at least 400FSB, have a PCI-E x16 slot, and be able to do sata raid 0...

So what's cheap?

the Gigabyte (JMicron) RAID isn't great though - if you can afford a mobo with ICH8R I would.

Try pushing the PCI-E frequency to 120, that should help your FSB along. Don't forget to cool your NB as well.
on a ds3, at what fsb should you start to worry about cooling the nb?

anyways, definitely try upping the pci-e frequency. in my last couple builds, i've noticed that intel chipsets don't overclock that well until you bump up the pci-e frequency.

Cool your NB at any fsb, especially when you start pushing 450+. I never had good luck with my DS3 though...but I'm pushing 3.7ghz on air with my P5B Deluxe.

I'm running 444 on a DS3 rock solid, I've had it up to 472 on air but it was only stable enough to take a screen cap in cpuz
