Cheap wireless repeater?

[Alanstein]

I've been searching for a repeater for home use for a while now, but it seeems like all of them are 100+ dollars. Are there any that aren't as expensive?

Thanks in advance, you guys rule

Why not DD-WRT? Will this work?

^ That's what I was going to suggest, too...I never looked into dedicated repeaters but I know you can get two WRT54G routers for $70-$80 and run one as a repeater. It worked very well when I had that setup. I upgraded to a DIR-655 for the wireless N and gigabit ethernet ports, but if you're OK with wireless G and 100Mb ports you can easily accomplish this for under $100.

I have done it too with dd-wrt, worked out quite nicely.

on sale for $74 with free shipping. I used this for two years bouncing a signal from the neighbor into my apartment before I switched over to WDS & DDWRT. Quick and easy setup. Just plug it in and press the button on the side and presto!
