Okay Guys, my son's TI4200 fan is shot, so its time to upgrade. He has a Comcrap with 2.5 athlon, 512m and needs a AGP card. Looking for one under $100, he plays last years games cuz I'm to cheap to buy him the latest. Plays Battlefield 1942, and the like.
Thanks in advance for the opinons.

maybe a Geforce 6600GT AGP or even a 6800GS AGP.
i'm not sure if you missed it, but he's looking to pay under $100.

This 6600 is probably the best option. It's $99, and comes with a lifetime warranty.

Also, have a look at the FS/FT forums for people selling their old 6600s and 6600GTs or even 6800 vanilla.

I second that.

If you look around, you can sometimes find a 6600GT floating around the FS/FT section for $100 ish.

That card you linked to would be a good option, except that its PCI-E. ;)

I agree. Look for a used 6600 or 6600gt in the forums. A 6800 might also be possible.

arg, you're right! damn newegg doesn't allow for drilling down searches by interface when you didn't go through the menus...

anyway, not a big deal as the AGP versions cost almost exactly the same. Here is an ASUS make of the same card, and here is the same make of the card I mentioned before.. Also I saw a couple of 6600 (gt)'s in the forums for <100, so I'd definetly take a look.

lol silly mistake.

I saw the $100 but some how was thinking of £100. You can pick up a 6600GT for around £70 now.

Buy a new fan for the ti-4200?

Look through the FS threads and find a cheapy 9700 pro. Seen one sell for $45 yesterday
