I need to get a new keyboard that has a smaller form factor (but not too small) basically just without the ten key. I want it to be good but cheap, but I don't need mechanical. It seems like finding a tenkeyless that is not mechanical is impossible.

Please let me know if there is an alternative.

Thanks

CM QF's are a good bet. Fairly cheap (I got mine for like 60?) and it's a mechanical to boot!

I have the original Apple version of that keyboard and it's a piece of shit. Waste of money. I can't even type on it without forcing my fingers to hit the switches, the membrane system is poorly/cheaply made, and the keycaps are so thin you can barely feel whether you bottomed out or not. Stay away from it.

The cheapest decent tenkeyless keyboard is the Cherry G84-4100. It sometimes can be found for as cheap as $18 on eBay. Here's one:

Retail price is much more, around $100. POS workers get them in bulk, use then sell all for cheap. It's the cheapest decent mechanical tenkeyless you'll find. The low profile Cherrry ML notebook switches used on it don't give the complete feeling of full blast mechanical switches, they're more like something in between mechanical and membrane. But for the price, there isn't a better keyboard out there. It's a good keyboard.

There're also some very cheap and decent tenkeyless backlit notebook membrane keyboards on ebay. You have to look up on notebook keyboards to find them.
