I already have a decent sound card. But I need an optical in so that I can run my xbox through my computer and use my 5.1 headphones. Does anybody make a cheap little optical in card?

thank you.

Most sound cards don't decode DD/DTS anyway, and if they do chances are there's an unacceptable amount of sound delay in doing so.

what? the Xbox is likely outputting a stereo PCM signal, or a DDL/similar signal, which the card (the Montego for sure, fairly certain on the AV-710 as well) will decode with no issues

the majority of soundcards actually will decode DD and DTS (and the delay is not "unacceptable"), and in the (unlikely) event the card doesn't, theres a 10-100GFlop+ primary computer tied to its ass, which is more than happy to decode everything from AC-3 mono to Master Audio 11.2 in real time, as long as you have the appropriate software
