HEy everyone...

I'm looking for a cheap KVM switch to control a few PC's...I dunno maybe a 4 port, or 2 port, doesn't matter, something pretty cheap, nothing special, just cheap...

Any suggestions...thanks...

Well, I have a manual one at home, it's basically a data switchbox.

I have a tendancy to lose the mouse and/or keyboard if switching between running systems.

I also have to have the dial turned on a machine in order to start it up. Or else it returns no keyboard/video errors. Or won't have a mouse/keyboard if it does startup.

I have an automatic one at work, from Belkin, pretty top of the line, ps/2, usb and sound for all computers.
I've never had a single problem with it.

Plus automatic ones let you switch computers with a hotkey sequence rather than hitting a button.
And some of the better ones have a scan option that will automatically switch computer if you need to monitor them.
(servers, installs, etc)

I will hopefully be switching to an automatic one at home when I rearrange my office.

it's definately worth the extra money in my opinion.

I would also suggest getting something that comes with all the cables you need, like this.

Linksys and Iogear both make 2 port units that have the cables built in and require no power. I have one of each, and they both work great.
