Samsung TX-R3080WH They also have a version without a built in HD tuner (which runs $100 less). Do you need it to be cablecard ready?

Cablecards are useless currently, at least in my opinion. One of the big advantages of digital cable is the on demand content, and cablecards don't support that yet.

Well you might think they are useless, but I use one on my Sony. I paid 50 bucks for the thing and I don't have to pay a monthly fee, does your cable provider let you buy a digital box for 50 bucks and not a pay a monthly fee? I don't have on demand but I have my replay tv, two mce's and a HD motorola 6412 dvr to keep me up to my eyes in stuff to watch.
